Franklin “Pitch” Johnson has worked as an independent venture capitalist since 1962. He cofounded Asset Management Company, which has made over 200 venture investments around the world. Writing a check is easy, he says, but sustaining the relationship over time is the real trick. In this interview with IESE Prof. Julia Prats, he describes the elements necessary to foster an entrepreneurial climate and predicts where he sees the VC industry going next.
