As public sector institutions around the world face severe budgetary constraints, maybe it’s time they modernized how they put out public projects to competitive tender. A research project by the José Felipe Bertrán Chair of Governance and Leadership in Public Administration at IESE, in collaboration with Vortal, found that using the Internet for competitive tenders could generate annual savings of up to 2.5 billion euros in Spain’s public spending alone.
