This chapter presents results from an inductive, qualitative study across 11 countries, and seeks to understand what elements are related to career success, how people in different cultures and occupations perceive and define career success, and whether these meanings are similar or different across countries and cultures. Based on our multi-cultural analysis, we first show the most important meanings of career success of our global sample (i.e. the 226 interviewees in 11 countries as a whole). Furthermore, we highlight commonalities and differences as well as certain universalism of meanings of career success across different countries and culture clusters.
