The night of April 14-15, 2012, marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. What can we learn from this famous shipwreck? The recent Costa Concordia cruise ship disaster in January 2012 revives the same age-old questions: Could such disasters be avoided with better planning, or is it just a case of bad luck?
